Washington National Cathedral - Part 1

I've mentioned how fascinated I was with the architecture of the Washington Cathedral and as a result we took a great many photos!

It is a non-demonational church that welcomes people of all faiths and is the 6th largest cathedral in the world.

It was built over 83 years from 1907 through 1990. As you will see from the following photos the attention to detail is amazing.

A view of part of the cathedral from the observation level.

A view of Washington from the observation level. The Washington Monument is visible in the distance.

Hallway on the observation floor.
Some exterior details.

I love all the little carvings.

Part 2 of the cathedral to come soon!
