Easy Fruit Desserts

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I made a couple of quick desserts for dinner with our friends Kathryn and Dave.

The first was chocolate covered cherries and strawberries. So good!

The second was Fruit Bruschetta that my Mom blogged about.

They were so good too!

And so easy to make.

Do you have a quick and easy 'go to' dessert?

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge - Focus On Colour

This month our blog hop challenge to share some of our favourite PTI colour combos! My PTI colour theme is kraft and enchanted evening!

I love the PTI kraft paper with any colour in their collection but for this month's blog hop I teamed it with enchanted evening blue to create a congratulatory card for my nephew who's grduating from grade 8 on Monday.

A bit of twine and a red button complete the card.

Who's Having a Birthday?

Hi all!

I'm back with another card I created this past weekend based on sketch 17 at Everything But The Kitchen Sink.

I used some cute stamps I bought at Archivers awhile back. Then I also incorporated some dry embossing as suggested at Crafty Ann's.

When I was browsing around some blogs last night, I noticed that my card(created before I read the blog)also resembles Joanne's lastest sketch at I.Love.Sketches!

Look Who Just Arrived!

Happy Sunday and Father's Day to y'all! Today is going to be a gorgeous day in our neck of the woods!

I'm playing along with two challenges today's, first is Embellish Magazine:

Then using sketch 20 at Our Creative Corner Sketches I created this card:

I used PTI stamps and buttons along with Kaiser paper with the image stamped on vellum. I like how the patterned paper shows through the vellum.

One Layer Card - OLW9

When I was at the Toronto Copic Certification last weekend, I met a cardmaker who mentioned the Simplicity blog to me. As my style tends to the simple side I thought I'd check it out and I'm so glad I did! I'm loving the card styles there! So I decided to participate in this week's one layer card challenge to use a flourish. So using my favourite flower florish I created this card:

I have to admit that although I tend to the simple side of cardmaking, one layer was a challenge for me but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I think I'll be a regular participant in these challenges from now on!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #33 - Beads!

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well!

I can hardly believe Little Red Wagon is on challenge #33! This week its my turn to set the LRW challenge and if you haven't guessed from the title, this week I'm challenging you to create something with beads on it.

I decided to create a card and placed beads in the centre of the flowers and on the ends of my bow accent.

The inks I used are PTI's Spring Moss and Hibiscus Burst teamed up with some cream cardstock and Basic Grey(Lemonade line). Oh, and a bit of Melissa Frances lace too!

As always we love to see what you make so please link up your creation over at Little Red Wagon. And while you're there be sure to check all the other creations! Thanks so much for playing along with us each week! We love to see all that creativity out there!

Pile It On - Challenge #23 - Showers

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you're having a terrific weekend. I'm spending today at a Copic Certification class, woohoo! Can't wait to learn some new techniques.

This week's Pile It On challenge is showers and it was a bit of a tough one for me. But I finally found a quote to do with storms(links to showers right?) then used some new Stampin'Up stamps my Mom gave me yesterday(love them Mom, thanks!) to create this card:

It also incorporates these challenges:

Off The Wall Craftiness- colours of brown, robin's egg blue and white taken from this photo:

Wouldn't you like to get a present all wrapped up like that stamp? I sure would! Photobucket

Little Red Wagon Challenge #31 - Altered Embellishment

Hi there!

Is it the weekend yet? No? Well until it arrives why not play along with this week's Little Red Wagon challenge?

This week Avril challenged us to use an embellishment in an altered way. I'm not sure I met the challenge as she expected but I decided to use a large white button to create the centre of the flower on this card:

I also followed sketch 169 at CPS in the creation of this card.

Please join us at Little Red Wagon if you can and check out all the creations.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Wow!

Hi all!

Tonight I decided to create a quick card based on Laura's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You and I think it also meets the pennant challenge at Cuttlebug Challenges.

And yes I'm using every last scrap of my Thrift Shop paper!

They're Back!

Last summer two chipmunks made their home on the edge of our garden. This year they are back although as one is smaller than the other I suspect they are mother and baby.

They were very bold getting quite close to where we sat on the patio while they gathered away.

I was able to get these pics!

They are cute!
