St.Thomas/St.John's

The last stop of our cruise was St.Thomas, well known for its shopping district.
But we didn't shop, instead we took a ferry to the nearby island of St.John's. Almost all of St.Johns has been designated a National Park so the foliage is extremely lush and the beaches left as pristine as possible.

We went to Trunk Bay beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Carribean. The water was a clear, turqoise blue; the sand, a fine white almost like sugar crystals with a gently sloping descent into the deeper water.

Steve loves to snorkel and the park maintains an underwater, labelled snorkel trail around the nearby reef. He said it was the best snorkelling he's ever done. The life guards are diligent about keeping the reef intact frequently telling the snorkellers to not stand on the reef. Another life guard paddles around on a board to keep an eye out as well.

I loved this beach! And as you will see it was a sunny, hot beautiful day! Enjoy the slide show below.
