In our front garden we have a climbing rose, it has been there since moved into the house 11 years ago. This is the second time in all of those 11 years that it has bloomed!
I'm not sure why, for the first few years we left it thinking it would bloom sometime in that summer but it never did. Then for a few summers we tried to rip it out, but it always came back, growing from the root, but nary a bloom.
Finally we gave up and two years ago it bloomed, then didn't last year and now this year is full of buds and flowers!
The photos show the progression of the buds flowering over 4 days from this weekend into early this week.
Isn't it lovely?
