Thrifting Again!

So I've popped into my local thrift store a couple of times lately and found these treasures.

Portmeirion napkins, brand new with my favoruite flowers, sweet peas and lilacs:

A two cup pyrex measuring cup:

Cute little Corning casseroles that I think actually may have been part of child's play set:

And lastly a unique Dominion glass that I plan to use as a paper weight:

Do you know what it was originally was?

It originally was an insulator that was used on telephone poles.

Another successful thrift hunt. The blue soon to be paper weight is an electrical insulator used on hydro , telegraph and telephone poles , in the olden days... they can be clear , green or blue. Worth around 10 to 12 dollars.

Gorgeous stuff! The Dominion glass piece is a glass insulator used on telegraph lines to help ground them. Very cool!
