1st Annual Tag Swap

This week I hosted my first annual tag swap!

Myself and eight scrappy friends created 9 tags each to share with each other.

Here's my tags all ready to swap.

Of course we had drinks and some nibbles then got down to the business of exchanging tags.

A bit of baking.

Yum, taco dip!

And here's the scrappy friends, from left to right, Joanne, Regan, Deanna, Jeannie.

Deanna posing for her pic this time!

Brenda and Kathryn.

Dianne and Avril.

And now for the tags!

Here's Avril's using a a felt snowflake as the tag base, so so creative!

Jeannie's fresh, clean take on her tag, unfortunately the lovely shimmery ribbon Jeannie choose doesn't show well in the pic :( , love the embossing!

Kathryn's Santa tag, so totally cute!

A closer look at one of my tags, gotta love Melissa Frances glittered chipboard.

Brenda's tag on a tag and isn't the glittered paper lovely?

Dianne's house mouse ornament tag, who can resist house mouse, not me!

Regan's holly and bells tag, love it!

Deanna's tag that opens, love the choice of red, blue and glitter!

Joanne's cute stamped, coloured and glittered tag, so sweet!

We all really enjoyed sharing how we created our tags with each one being so individual and creative. Hopefully we can get together and swap tags again next year!

Little Red Wagon Challenge 7 - Sewing

This week Avril challenged us to use sewing on our creation. I don't know why I don't machine sew on my cards more often as I always like how it looks!

The layers on this week's CPS sketch 146 were perfect for sewing and so is this gorgeous paper by My Mind's Eye. I layered up some of the matching diecuts then added some glitter to the stars as well.

I hope you'll play along with us a Little Red Wagon this week, we'd love to see what you sew! Check out the rest of the team's creations too! (Links are on the left.)

And a photo of my glittered churches.

Two completely different looks and I like them both!

Christmas Decorations

Sunday evening already! Where does the time go?

I've managed to make a big dent into my baking this weekend but so far no presents are wrapped! Hopefully I'll wrap a couple tonight but first I have to finish the tags for a tag swap I'm hosting on Tuesday evening. I may even post a sneak peak of the tags tomorrow!

In the meantime I thought I'd share a few pics of some of my Christmas decorations.

On the living room coffee table.

On the dining room table.

On the kitchen table.(Think I have a thing for ornaments? :) )

Hanging in the family room.

Have a great evening!

Its Beginning to Look alot Like Christmas

Happy Saturday!

Thought I'd share a card I created using a Bella stamped image that I got some colouring tips on the other night from friends at one of our LSS.

I really like the blue shading and bits of glitter. I used a Snow Writer then added glitter while it was wet, love the snowy effect!

Today I'm baking and hopefully doing some wrapping too! What are you up to?

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

What a Difference a Week Makes!

Remember my urn from last week?

This is what it looks like this week!

And I thought we'd escape snow this winter!

Oh well, since I was outside I took a few other shots as well.

I really like the look of the grasses in the snow.

Doesn't Santa look cheerful?

Little Red Wagon Challenge # 6

Oh this was a bit of a tough one this week!

Carolyn provided this inspiration photo for us to create something from:

So I thought and thought and came up with this card:

I love this cuttlebug folder and bling but the card just wasn't speaking to me.

Then last night while card creating with friends I was inspired to create this card:

I like it much better!

It uses the Bella presents stamp, copic marker YG17, silver liquid pearls, glitter and a while souffle pen. I thought about adding ribbon but decided I liked the white space.

12 Tags of Christmas - Day 9

Hello!

What have you been up to these past few days?

At our house Christmas prep has begun in earnest! From decorating, to cards, to shopping to attending a Christmas party and baking planning, we've been busy!

I'm pleased to say I'm done our shopping except for a few last minute items. Now to wrap it all!

I did take some time tonight to create another tag. This one is from one of last year's cards, isn't the image cute?

I cut it into a circle shape then added a bit of trim and a button and voila!

Stay tuned for day 10! I hope to share a few pics of this year's Christmas decorating soon too!

Outdoor Seasonal Arrangement

Today along with some Christmas shopping, I filled my front porch urn with evergreen and twig branches I purchased at the market last weekend.

I also added the glitter branches and large ornaments like I did last year.

I do like to decorate outside with seasonal greenery, do you?

Believe

Moxie Fab has been issuing a new challenge called Trigger Tuesdays, you create a card based on inspiration from a photo. I've admired many of the creations submitted on previous challenges and decided to give it a try myself.

Here's the inspiration, a patchwork stocking from Pottery Barn.

And here's my card.

So what do what do you think, does it look like it was inspired by the photo?

Merry

When I saw the challenge at Pile It On this week I just knew I had to play along! I mean flowers and flourishes are just right up my alley! Then I remembered I had this flower swirl stamp by Perfectly Clear Stamps that would fit the challenge perfectly.

I also followed sketch 43 at Card Patterns and used some of My Mind's Eye paper from last year that I had yet to break into! I used my new Raspberry Fizz ink by Papertrey along with their buttons and rustic cream paper. Oh yea, and I added some Stickles too!

Little Red Wagon - Challenge 4

This week Joanne challenged us to use metal in our creation. I'm not sure what she she may have been expecting us to create but I decided to alter a metal paperclip and a metal CD case.

I've used primarily Imaginisce papers/rub-ons plus some trims/buttons from my stash to alter these items.

I envision the paperclip being used as a photo or card holder.

Here's the front of the CD case.

And now the inside.

I've used the CD case to enclose lottery scratch tickets but it could certainly enclose a greeting card or a gift card.

I hope these metal creations inspire you in some way and that you will play along at Little Red Wagon this week. Check out the rest of the team's creations, links to their blogs are in the left column.

12 Tags of Christmas - Day 7 - Take 2

I redid the pic of this tag.......it looks much better now!

12 Tags of Christmas - Day 7

I received my new Holiday Button Bits stamps from Papertrey on Monday and couldn't wait to break into them!

Here's a quickie tag I created that also uses PTI Vintage Buttons.

Unfortunately the colours didn't come out quite right. I'll try again to get a better photo later. I played around with some photo editing at Picnik.com too!
