A little while back, I gave you a sneak peak of some wedding layouts I did for Younique using the Making Memories I Do line.
Heather now has them put together as kit and I'm pleased to show them in their entirety. Some of you may recognize the couple featured in these layouts!
These layouts use Bazzil Tiara which has a gorgeous shine that set off these papers beautifully. And I did liberally use bling as well!

Happy 18th Birthday Brianne
We celebrated Brianne's birthday a week early this past Sunday. My Mom and Grandma joined us for brunch at Golf's then later that afternoon we had a chocolate ice cream cake(with M&M's and Nestle crunch) from Marble Slab Creamery. It was all yummy!
We gave Brianne a matching Fossil purse, wallet and cosmetic pouch she had been wanting, here's a pic of the purse:
That's where this little gift came in that I posted about earlier.
Since you can't give a purse without a bit of money in it, we added 18 loonies to this little pouch and tucked in the purse as a gift from Brittany!

Happy Birthday
I've been feeling a little stressed this week but did take the time to make a birthday card........that bit of creativity did help to relieve some of that stress........but next time I think I'll add some wine to the mix too!
This card and gift tag was created for the Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Party Palooza.
I love this new paper by Cosmo Cricket and also used an EK border punch as well as the swiss dots embossing folder.
I've also recently been trying my skills at using Copic markers and found a copic marker challenge blog, so I used their suggested colours to colour the Magnolia image used on this card.
Then I broke into my new Stampin' Up stamp and punches to create a matching tag. I'll explain why there are loonies in the pouch in another post early next week!
And Dee suggested I link my card up to Pile It On, they also have a birthday theme this week. So, I have, thanks for the suggestion Dee!

Anniversary Flowers
Yesterday was our 21st wedding anniversary! I barely feel any older than 21 most days!
What an achievement these days when so many marriages end up in divorce.
And while our marriage isn't perfect and there have been times when I could cheerfully strangle my husband there is no disputing that 21 years ago I married my best friend.
Red roses are compliments of my DH, aren't they beautiful? And my parents sent us a beautiful arrangment too! Thanks so much Mom and Dad!

Black,White and Pink
Our friends Kathryn and Dave celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend with a lovely garden party.
I happened to know that one of their favourite colour combinations is black and white with sometimes a bit of pink(Kathryn's favourite) thrown in.
Some time ago I found a bottle bag in black and white with pink trim that had their monogram of M on it.
Then I happened to buy the Papertrey Damask Designs stamp set.
And yes, I had an "aha" moment. In a complete 'lift' of a card I saw in the PTI gallery, I created this card:
I created the designed paper by stamping in black on the white then trimmed it with pink ribbon.
I then used my new technique of stamping the sentiment over an already stamped damask image.
And look how perfectly the card matched the bottle bag!
I almost wanted to keep it all but my name does not begin with M.

Fresh Veggies!
We were invited to a 'last bash of summer' party this past Saturday and I debated on what to take. Given time limitations I finally settled on fresh veggies and dip. But I also needed a hostess gift so I combined the two.
I visited my local dollar store and found a yellow tray that would show off the colours of the veggies perfectly. I also found a ceramic oval dish to use for the dip.
Then I arranged a bright mix of veggies around the ceramic dish.
I punched it up by adding some parsley, chives and nasturiams from my garden! Doesn't everything look fresh!
The veggies were gone in a flash! And I left the tray and dish as a gift for the hostess!

And Now A Few Thoughts
about So You Think You Can Dance Canada........
1/ Leah Miller is not Cat Deeley
2/ Jean Marc is not Nigel
3/ Nigel cannot say au'ten'tic the way Jean Marc does
4/ I love everything Benji Schwimmer does
5/ I like Luther Brown too
6/ Melissa Williams bracelet size earrings were too heavy, too large and totally distracting(or was it just me?)
7/ Blake McGrath is one twisted but talented choreographer
8/ Emmanuel who never realized his full potential as a figure skater is perfectly suited to dramatic choreography

Completed!
As I mentioned in previous posts, I haven't been partaking in many card challenges lately because I'm trying to finish up, organize and file about 3 years worth of completed layouts.
My dining room table is covered.........see, I'm not kidding!
My dining room table is covered.........see, I'm not kidding!
This was a stack of pages I took with me to Memories Manor a couple of weeks ago and to which I added dates, names etc.
And I did get them all done!
One more large pile to add journalling too, then the final sort and filing will begin.
But while I was at the Manor, I also dug out some kits and completed a few of those too. These kits are from some of my favourites companies, Two Scrapbook Friends, In A Pinch and I also completed one I bought from a vendor at CKC Buffalo about 3 years ago!
I really like this fall layout!
Then while scrapbooking last night, I created this layout using supplies I've also had for while!

New Favourite
When I was in the salad section of the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, I saw this salad dressing:
I decided to give it a try and love it. The sweetness of the pear balances the tartness of the blue cheese for a perfect combo of tangy and sweet.
I use it on a salad of mixed baby greens, blueberries and toasted slivered almonds......so so good!
While I was browsing for a pic of the salad dressing I found that Renees has an excellent recipe file, check them out here.

More Garden Blooms
Although the calendar says its still summer, the cool nights and warm sunny days of fall seem to have arrived. The kids are returning to school and the days are slowly but surely getting shorter. But before we let summer go completely here's a few more pics of flowers in our garden.
