Easter Accents 2012

I spent a little bit of time decorating for Easter this past weekend.

First a few decorations on the living room coffee table.

I purchased this new bunny at a discount store recently and he works perfectly under a cloche.

I had seen ceramic egg dishes at Pottery Barn or Anthropologie where they were outrageously priced. But I found this inexpensive one at JoAnn's. I filled it with a mix of eggs and pretty tealights that I already had.

And of course had to include my Fitz and Floyd.

I love Easter Lilies.

And on my foyer table, mercury glass candleholders mixed with spring flowers and birds.

And I was inspired to create the bunny frame by using a backing of burlap then printing and cutting out a silhouette of a bunny.

And moving into the kitchen, egg shaped dishes in a chicken wire inspired holder.

Apothecary jars filled with spring eggs.

And on the kitchen table fresh daffodils and treats placed on top of a vintage tablecloth.

I'm linking this up to Dear Lillie's Easter Link party , A Stroll Thru Life's 110th Table Top Tuesday, and Skip To My Lou's Made By You Monday.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by!

April 1st evening

I'm currently

Listening to Storage Wars, can't wait for Once Upon a Time to start at 7pm.
Eating nothing but just finished a yummy dinner of roasted pork tenderloin, salad and baked cilantro fries(recipe to come soon!)
Drinking nothing but just finished a glass of wine and am thinking about having another!
Wearing old, comfy clothes.
Feeling good, a nice change after a kind of down January and February.
Weather is rainy but all the vegetation is greening up nicely!
Wanting a laundry fairy!
Needing to clean up my scrap room.
Thinking that weekends are never long enough!
Enjoying this little ceramic berry box that I purchased at Anthropologie.

Purex Newest Scent

It’s about time someone got wise to what ‘good smelling’ laundry is – who can’t resist the scent of fresh baked cookies? Purex, always in tune with what consumers want, is rolling out their freshest newest scent, fresh-baked cookies:

Laundry can be such a chore – why not have it enjoyable inhaling the scent of fresh baked cookies? I bet more people will be hanging out in the laundry room for longer periods of time, taking in the scent. Hopefully they won’t be tempted to snack on their clothes. That would be weird.

Everyone loves cookies – now maybe everyone will love doing their laundry. Thanks Purex – you never cease to amaze me with your forward thinking.

I'll definitely need to look for this the next time I need laundry detergent!

PS April Fool's!!! Idea from here.

Little Red Wagon #126 - Up In The Clouds

It's Wednesday again and you know what that means, yes, it's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge.

This week Tammy is challenging us to use clouds on our project.

I was inspired by some cards I saw on Etsy to create this:

Wouldn't it be nice if after every rainstorm the clouds parted and there you see a bright rainbow?

If you can, please join us at Little Red Wagon with your cloud inspired creation, we love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Very Early Spring

This past couple of weeks we have been experiencing a very early spring with several days of summer like temperatures.

As spring like weather is expected to continue I decided to add some pansies to my urn and window box.

Then I took a walk around the garden to see what had bloomed or was in bud.

First up, hyacinths.

Daffodil

Plumeria

Our climbing rose has greened up to the tips, that already reach the eaves, and is in leaf.

Chives and sage.

Rosemary survived our very mild winter!

Curly parsley.

Italian or flat leaf parsley.

Hydrangea in bud.

Lilacs in leaf!

Very odd weather but I'm not going to complain at all! Love the early start on spring gardening!

Little Red Wagon #125 - Clean and Simple

Hi all,

I'm back with Jan's Little Red Wagon challenge to create something clean and simple.

I created this card:

I used a stamp I borrowed while at The Art House then accented with some cardstock and ribbon.

At some point I envision adding a sentiment that says something like 'sew lovely of you'.

Please join us over at Little Red Wagon with your clean and simple project, we love to see what you create!

Little Red Wagon # 124 - Lucky You

Hope you're having a great week!

We're on March break and thoroughly enjoying ourselves!

This week Joanne is challenging us to use the word 'luck' in our creation.

She may have been thinking about St. Patrick's day in selecting this theme but I created a layout instead.

I use Basic Grey's Sweet Threads papers on this one along with Brittany's school photo.

Want to play along? Dig into those wagons and link up your creation over at Little Red Wagon.

Little Red Wagon #123 - Weaving

Time for this week's Little Red Wagon challenge.

And Deanna is challenging us to use weaving on our project.

I dug through my wagon for scraps of coordinating ribbon to create this card:

Such a great way to use up scraps that are too small to tie.

So dig into your wagon and link up your weaved creation at Little Red Wagon.

We love to see what you create!

Kitchen Update 2012

Just a week ago I posted photos of my kitchen eating area.

Here they are again:

A gold colour with a traditional oak table.

And here's the same area now:

Walls are storm cloud gray by Benjamin Moore.

It is a very green'y' gray.

And look at the table!

We had the pedestal and chairs painted in black then distressed with the table top restained in french roast, a darker colour that it was previously.

I love this mini-update! Much more current!

Thanks for stopping by!
