Tag Swap Giveaway!

I held my second annual tag swap earlier this week and it was so much fun!

I'll show more pics in another post but first want to show the tags we all created! All so unique and wonderful!

First up is Tammie's vintagey, Tim Holtz inspired tag. Love all the details!

Next is Deanna's white and craft tag with a wonderful line of glitter!

And Regan's sweet tag with a felt bird.

Avril created this sweet layered tag and you can't tell in the pic but it is lightly glittered too.

Both Regan and Avril used some Martha Stewart doily tags in their tags, I have to get me some of them!

Anyway, the next tag is by Pat, a wonderful glittered happy holidays tag.

And here is Jeannie's tag! Love the cluster of bells and tulle but that's not all....

She tucked it in this holder created from a brown lunch bag and also added a chocolate and candy cane treat!

Brenda's 'joy'ful tag is terrific!

Kim's embossed, hanger like tag is so fun!

Here's Kathryn's tag with layers of paper and a gorgeous rosette flower!

And finally my tag.

Aren' t they all wonderful!? And guess what, we have an extra set to give way to one lucky reader! All you have to do to enter is comment on this post. I'll select a winner next Friday, the 17th!

Christmas Cloche Party!

Happy Friday!

Today I'm pleased to be joining in Marty's Christmas Cloche Party.

I've had fun filling my cloches with ball ornaments this year.

First up is an arrangement on my kitchen table:

And a closer view:

A larger cloche that on one of my living room tables:

And while not technically a cloche, I do like this mantel arrangement with an apothecary jar:

Thanks for hosting this party Marty!

And thanks to you for stopping by, have a great day!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #58 - Die Cuts!

Hi all!

I can't believe I've been way from my blog for a week! But I've been busy with decorating, baking and a bit of kitchen remodelling so I have lots of blog material for several posts now!

I hosted my second annual Tag Swap tonight and decided to use the tag I made for this week's die cut challenge by Avril.

In the creation of this tag I used two different Spellbinder label dies.

The wreath is stamped with a Memory Box stamp(love them!) then embellished with some Flowersoft and glitter. And the Flowersoft went perfectly with Basic Grey's Wassail line of papers.

Check out all the other girlfriend's creations over at Little Red Wagon and if you can, please join us by linking up your die cut creation!

Thanks for stopping by and check back soon, I'll be having a giveaway!

Little Red Wagon Challenge # 57 - Gift Bag and Tag

Hi all, I'm back with another Little Red Wagon challenge! This week Joanne challenged us to make a gift bag or tag or both!

I used Basic Grey Jovial paper to create this bag and simple tag:

The tag uses a Papertrey stamp and die. The trees on the bag are also made with a Papertrey die. I popped up and added stickles to the top tree although you can't see it in the photo.

Check out all the other girlfriend's creations over at Little Red Wagon and if you can, please join us by linking up your bag and/or tag.

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm starting on Christmas decorating today, beginning with this handmade wreath I purchased from a vendor at the market.

Isn't it gorgeous?

Have you started Christmas decorating?

Balance

Like many of us experience from time to time, I am struggling with finding the right balance in my life right now. So the blog has suffered a bit.

But today I thought I'd share a pic of the goodie bags I made for our Little Red Wagon crop night we had a week or so ago. I used the new Rosette die by Sizzix and Tim Holtz to make the red flowers, love that die!

Then this past weekend I was at a terrific day crop hosted by Karen of the Art House and completed two make and takes.

Here's the first by In A Pinch:

And the second from Karen:

I love them both and am particularly taken with the idea of recycling old book pages on cards and other creations as Karen has done in her make and take.

Thanks for stopping by!

Its Wednesday and you know what that means! Another Little Red Wagon challenge! And its my turn to set the challenge!

Banners have to be one of the hottest trends out there in paper crafting right now. So this week on Little Red Wagon my challenge is to add a banner to your project.

I used a banner die from my wagon to create this birthday card:

So let those banners fly and show us your creations over at Little Red Wagon!

And be sure to check out all the girlfriends projects for more inspiration!

Five Colours

A quick Sunday morning post before I head into Toronto for some shopping with my daughters.

This week's one layer challenge is to use 5 ink colours, now that is a challenge!

But I reached for my new Merry Little Christmas stamp set and created this card(the yellow star is a bit hard to see):

I quite like it and in future I think I should try to be more adventurous in using more than two types of ink on one card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific Sunday!

Thinking about Christmas Decorating

I'm starting to think about Christmas decorating.

In our family room the mantel is the focal point as our tree is in the living room. Here's a pic of last year's snowman mantel:

Although I still love snowmen I think its time to change it up a bit so will be browsing all the mantel ideas at A2Z.

1, 2, 3 Bellarific!

This morning I'm off for a weekend of shopping in Michigan, woo hoo! I'm gonna get a good start on that Christmas shopping.

But before I go, here's a card I created for this week's Bella challenge.

We were to use one image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments. I hope using one paper twice is OK.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Little Red Wagon Challenge # 53 - Use Red

Well we made it! Little Red Wagon is one year old!

To celebrate we would like to see your creations using the colour red! I created a cupcake card following sketch 88 over at Card Patterns!

And this week each of the girlfriends has some blog candy from their wagons up for grabs! I dug out some red embellishments and matched them up to some Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen paper.

So join in the celebrations over at Little Red Wagon! We love to see what you create.

Hurry Up Chicken Pot Pie

Hello all!

Thought I'd share a new recipe I found by Paula Deen as published on the Food Network.

Its quick and easy and we liked it so much I made it twice over 3 days!

Ingredients
2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
1/2 cup thinly sliced carrots
1/2 cup frozen green peas
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 cup chicken broth
Salt and pepper, optional
1 1/2 cups instant biscuit mix
1 cup milk
1 stick melted butter

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a greased 2-quart casserole, layer the chicken, eggs, carrots, and peas. Mix the soup, chicken broth, and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Pour over the layers. Stir together the biscuit mix and milk, and pour this over the casserole. Drizzle butter over the topping. Bake until the topping is golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.
